The Postnatal Doula Academy Scholarship
Inclusivity and social justice runs through the heart of The Postnatal Doula Academy.
We need more postnatal doulas that represent the rich diversity of the UK. We have known for a while that there is a diversity issue in the type of individual who is a doula. Times are changing, and we must make sure that there are doulas for everyone who gives birth.
In order to make training to be a postnatal doula more accessible, one scholarship is offered as part of each intake of Academy students.
The scholarship aims to include those often marginalised. In order to be eligible for The Postnatal Doula Academy Scholarship you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Be a black, indigenous or person of colour;
Be part of the LGBTQ+ community;
Be from a low income household (earning less than £18,000 a year);
Be a refugee or current asylum seeker and/or;
Be someone with a disability.
The scholarship covers the cost of the course. The scholarship student will have to fund their own travel and accomodation.
If you wish to be considered for a scholarship, please tick the appropriate section on the application form.
