The Postnatal Doula Academy is a postnatal training course with a difference.
You will submit an application form (to make sure that the right people are part of the Academy) and Grace will be in touch to arrange a phone call.
Once your application is successful, you will:

Attend the foundation weekend of training (more on that below), learning the key skills and knowledge needed to be a brilliant postnatal doula and the business tools to get you started,

Join a vibrant community of doulas committed to supporting one another on their journeys, and;

Get the opportunity to learn from some of the best experts in the postnatal world via monthly Zoom catch ups.
When we look at postnatal life and how to support people, we’ll look at it from a number of perspectives. It's no longer good enough to look at life through a heteronormative cis-gendered point of view. That’s just lazy.

Once accepted onto the Academy, you'll be able to join the Facebook group to meet your fellow Academy buddies. You'll be set an assignment to be completed prior to the course.​
NOTE: We are currently planning for a face-to-face weekend of training in Devon, UK. This is obviously dependent on Covid-19 social distancing rules and restrictions. This may change closer to the time depending upon the situation.
The face-to-face weekend

Friday
Spend time getting to know others and reflecting on who you are and what brought you to the Academy. Begin to explore what Postnatal Doulaing is (and isn't!)

Saturday
Deep dive into what it means to be a Postnatal Doula, why we're needed now more than ever and the essential skills and knowledge it takes to be a kickass Postnatal Doula.

Sunday
Focus on the foundations of running your own business and the mindset needed to enable you to be a successful business owner. Reflect on what you've learned over the two days and look ahead to starting your Doula journey.

After the course
